Hi Gil,

yes, its possible, but I currently don't have the time to expand the tool. The modifications are rather simple, so anyone with a little shell or C programming knowledge should have no problem to extend it.

ciao,

Hi Elmar, thanks for the great job.
Is it possible to create an application to capture the IR codes from the remotes and dump the codes in a file or even add this option in a new version? I see lots of people in the forums/comments having problems to use this tool because telnet is not going up (due to no network device) and there is no other way to get the codes.

It would be really helpfully.

Thanks again.

Works on WDTV Live!!

On first telnet session type:
# config_tool -c EIRI=ON
# reboot

On second telnet session type:
# telnet localhost 14147

Use your remote to see codes on screen

With B-RAD firmware 0.4.1.9-6 (wich include eiri)

On a telnet sesion on my wdtvlive type:
  telnet localhost 14247
But obtain an error,
  telnet: cannot connect to remote host (127.0.0.1): Connection refused

Same error if I connect USB flash (with eiri) and boot my wdtvlive.

Any idea?

Hi,
first of all thanks for the great job!
Take this as my small contribution:
in eirid.c
        if ('\n' == tmp) {
            printf("Processing: %s", buffer);
must be
        if ('n' == tmp) {
            printf("Processing: %s", buffer);

Ciao
Max

Hi,

yes you can do that, you just have to bind the bogus IR signals to dummy commands. There will be more documentation soon on how to do that. For now you can read the thread in the WDTV Forum at http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?topic=1401.0

Hi,

sorry if this is a doublepost, but my previous comment still didn't show up.

Does this tool allow to suppress existing remote commands? (this is needed by Samsung/Philips owners, these TVs emit a lot of infrared noise that confuses WDTV)

p.s.
And thanks for doing such a great job!
