Elmer, quick question.
i am using firmware 0.4.7.3
Do i still have to install eiri R189?

I was using the EIRI this morning and trying to get the codes from the second remote. I got a few codes and then the 2nd remote stopped sending codes to telnet. The original remote was sending codes. Have i done something wrong? Hope you can shed some light.

Works great on my WDTVLive and the AV-Recorder Remote. Still, my Samsung Remote wont do, in telnet no button spits out a reaction. Is that another frequency or standard? Do you process the raw ir-data?

Hi Gil,

yes, its possible, but I currently don’t have the time to expand the tool. The modifications are rather simple, so anyone with a little shell or C programming knowledge should have no problem to extend it.

Hi Elmar, thanks for the great job.
Is it possible to create an application to capture the IR codes from the remotes and dump the codes in a file or even add this option in a new version? I see lots of people in the forums/comments having problems to use this tool because telnet is not going up (due to no network device) and there is no other way to get the codes.

It would be really helpfully.

Works on WDTV Live!!

On first telnet session type:
# config_tool -c EIRI=ON
# reboot

On second telnet session type:
# telnet localhost 14147

eiri is not WDTV Live compatible.

With B-RAD firmware 0.4.1.9-6 (wich include eiri)

On a telnet sesion on my wdtvlive type:
telnet localhost 14247
But obtain an error,
telnet: cannot connect to remote host (127.0.0.1): Connection refused

Same error if I connect USB flash (with eiri) and boot my wdtvlive.

Any idea?
